EXHIBITION

Hanoi- Exhibition “No & Meaning” by Nguyen Minh Thanh

Manzi Art Space, 14 Phan Huy Ich street, Ba Dinh street

A solo exhibition by visual artist Nguyen Minh Thanh – one of the most important artists of contemporary art in Vietnam today.

Established in the art community for his thoughtful, introspective musings of self, Thanh presents his life in all its simplicity and honesty. After 10 years of seclusion living a solitary, meditative life in the hillside of Da Lat city, Thanh has reduced his art to a simple expression of his happiness.

Hanoi- Exhibition “Vestige of a Land”

Goethe-Institut Hanoi, 56-58 Nguyen Thai Hoc street, Ba Dinh district

A collaborated project throughout 6 months between Le Giang and Sino-Nom researcher Nguyen Dinh Hung, vernacular architect Pham Thanh Thuy and environmental consultant Nguyen Thuy Duong on communal houses in Northern Vietnam and the Red River’s water flow.

Regarding these spiritual relics’ disappearances, the exhibition boasts a question in connection with the ability of traversing oneself within the present while visualising about the future. While there have yet a definite answer for such a task, the quest of unearthing these artefacts shall be carried onwards tactfully.

Hanoi-Contemporary Art Exhibition “Du & Doi”

4th floor, Hanoi Museum, Pham Hung street, Nam Tu Liem district

An exhibition by artists Ngo Xuan Binh and Le Van Thin, featuring more than 300 artworks created with various media: lacquer, oil, dó paper, mixed media,…

The exhibition focuses on the mental concept of traditionalism and modernity with an aim to realize that the world has always been miraculous, loving and brand-new. This is the chance for audience to see and appreciate the artworks by the two artists, as well as preserving and promoting Vietnamese contemporary art to local and international publics.

HCMC- Exhibition “La Sourire de la Mutation”

HCMC Fine Arts Museum, 97A Pho Duc Chinh street, district 1

Featuring a poetic perspective of Vietnam in its metamorphosis through artworks by three artists from France, Belgium, Vietnam and students from HCMC University of Fine Arts, and through participatory workshops for audience.

The exploration of urban metamorphosis in a modern and multidisciplinary way is superimposed, questioning the transition between the past and the future.

HCMC-Exhibition “Empty Forest” by Tuan Andrew Nguyen

The Factory Contemporary Arts Centre, 15 Nguyen U Di, Thao Dien, District 2

A solo exhibition showcasing film, sculpture, photography and performance – revealing a landscape where the industry of ailing spiritual beliefs is feeding the most wretched of human desires, to irreversible effect.

For this premiere showcase, Tuan Andrew Nguyen will transform the ground floor main hall into a menagerie of animalistic forms, a kind of large-scale diorama where the voice of the endangered sits on the edge of extinction (or in particular case has already teetered into oblivion).
