At 7am, the tropical depression was located at 16.8 degrees north latitude and 126.0 degrees east longitude at around 420 kilometers of the eastward of the Philippines’ Luzon Island. The maximum wind near the center gusted 50- 60 kilometers an hour.
In next 24 hours, it is going to quickly move the west- northwestward at 25 kilometers an hour before developing into typhoon.
By 7am tomorrow, around 18.2 degrees north latitude and 120.5 degrees east longitude is forecast to be next position of the pressure system. The strongest wind near the center will blow 60- 75 kilometers per hour.
On Saturday, the tropical- low pressure system will enter the Paracel Islands.
From October 16- 17, the typhoon is forecast to make landfall in the north- central provinces from Nghe An to Quang Binh. However, the provinces from Thanh Hoa to Quang Tri will be effected.
According to the National Steering Committee on Natural Disaster Prevention, the Hoa Binh Hydropower Plant has closed four its sluice gates to reduce of flood level on Da River.
