The vaccine has been distributed to health facilities in HCM City. Pentaxim, also known as the five-in-one vaccine, helps protect infants against diphtheria, tetanus, pertussis (whooping cough) and hepatitis B, as well as Haemophilus influenza Type B.

With the current imported dose, parents can now get their infants injected with Pentaxim at health facilities.

In mid-September, HCM City ran out of the vaccine, turning parents nervous.

HCM City Department of Health has asked parents to collaborate with medical staff by updating the heath status of their infants after vaccination.

Simultaneously, parents should also notify the nearest health facility as soon as they spot abnormal signs in children such as high fever or swelling that is spreading.

Some 120,000 doses of the six-in-one Infanrix vaccine are expected to be imported in the near future, to meet the demand for vaccinations in Vietnam.
