A ceremony was held in Hanoi on May 14 to honour 40 winner of the 2017 Vietnam Fund for Scientific and Technological Creations (VIFOTEC) Award, in the presence of Deputy Prime Minister Vu Duc Dam.
The outstanding works were selected from 118 works in six fields including mechanics-automation; materials technology; information technology-electronics-telecommunication; biotechnology in service of production and life; technologies in service of climate change adaptation, environmental protection and judicious use of natural resources; as well as technologies to save energy and using new energy sources.
Accordingly, the organising board presented four first, eight second, 15 third and 13 consolation prizes.
Launched in 1995, the Vietnam Science and Technology Innovation Award have encouraged the exploration and creation of scientific and technological works, which are capable of addressing the urgent requirements of the current reality and raising the competitiveness of Vietnamese products.
On the occasion, the Prime Minister awarded certificates of merit to nine individuals, who are the managers and co-managers of the four first-prize-works.
In addition, the World Intellectual Property Organisation (WIPO) awarded the WIPO Award for a work on researching and developing automatic production lines, implementing advanced technology for rice milk production, and the automatic packing of inline coils for agricultural product processing.
