1. Education services provided in a non-traditional way use a shared platform called 7Astar created by Tran Viet Hung and his co-workers. It offers new education concepts in Vietnam with low costs, high quality and evaluation of learning outcomes.

In order to set the lowest possible tuition, 7Astar cut costs on unnecessary items. The center doesn’t have consultancy and business officials, and instead, the founders, together with teachers who understand the training curriculum, give advice to parents and students.

The center also ct back on the budget for ads. “In the last 2.5 years, 7Astar has spent only several million dong on ads on Facebook since the establishment,” Hung said.

Free technology platforms such as Google, Skype and Facebook are used to establish interactions between teachers and classes, as well as control the quality of training.

With classes managed by groups on Facebook and documents shared on Google Drive, online lessons via Skype can bring better learning experiences to students.

2. The founders of Funix, an online university, are trying every possible way to cut unnecessary costs. Funix doesn’t follow other universities and does not spend money on lecture halls, teachers and documents for students.

“With Funix, you won’t have to waste money on motorbike parking fees, documents and travel,” Nguyen Thanh Nam, the founder of Funix, said.

Funix follows the model of Ecole 42 in France with no classroom, no teacher, and no printed documents. Students study on their own and mark their school work themselves.

Nam says Funix is a ‘method of learning’ rather than a type of university. Based on MOOCS (Massive Open Online Courses), learners can program their own study schedules. There are at least four mentors available to answer one question from students at any time.

3. Eight years ago, when Nguyen Thi Minh Tam, the founder of Career Coaching, completed the program, she believed the program would be useful to everyone. However, she understood that the fee for the service was unaffordable for many young people.

What Tam was most concerned about was how to help more people who have difficulties in their careers. So she set up the Career Coaching community program.

Inner Space offers mind-relaxation and provides knowledge to form skills that help busy people relieve stress, and control emotions and situations.
