An will hold a fan meeting at Book Street (Nguyen Van Binh Street) in HCM City today before flying to Quy Nhon City for his first show.

He will then move to Quang Ngai Province and Da Nang City.

The shows will feature veteran singers, Vietnamese-Americans Vu Khanh and Thanh Lan, both of whom were famous in the 1960s and 70s.

Young singers Lan Nha and Le Ngoc will also be included.

His show, Chuyen Tinh Khong Ten (Unnamed Love Story), will be staged at the Majestic Hotel Saigon in HCM City on August 18.

The event will include Vietnamese-American singer Quang Dung and the girl band 5 Dong Ke.

He will close his tour with two concerts, called Tinh Ca Vu Thanh An-Vang Son Mot Thuo (Vu Thanh An’s Love Songs-Once Golden Melodies), in Ha Noi.

Vietnamese-American singers Bang Kieu and Thanh Lan will be featured.

The singers will perform An’s 21 songs, including 10 love songs called Bai Khong Ten (Untitled Songs), which have been popular for more than five decades.

Born in 1943 in Nam Dinh Province, An moved to Sai Gon in 1960.

His first song, Tinh Khuc Thu Nhat (First Love Song), with lyrics by poet Nguyen Dinh Toan, became a top hit.

His first album, Nhung Bai Khong Ten (Untitled Songs), released in 1969, impressed  audiences. He has written more than 120 songs, mostly love songs.

After An left Viet Nam in 1991 to live in Portland, Oregon, he began composing anthems and working for charities.

His shows in Quang Ngai Province and Da Nang are expected to be held on Friday and Saturday.

Tinh Ca Vu Thanh An-Vang Son Mot Thuo will be held on August 19 and 20 in Ha Noi.
